Spanish students experience school life at Barnhill

Hola mis amigos y amigas!

Following last year's successful visit, the MFL team once again accommodated a group of 20 students from Spain just before half term.

In a carefully crafted timetable, students experienced a range of lessons and were accompanied by  Barnhill buddies assigned to help them navigate the school and our systems.

The DT team timetabled two days of practical and creative lessons for our visiting spaniards who thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  Textiles produced ugly doll key ring charms whilst food cooked up a storm of Tikka kebabs, naan bread and rice.  Ms Luke treated them to designer cupcakes and Mr Allen designed a little trinket box and key ring for everyone!

Ms Aguilera, MFL curriculum lead, said: 'Teachers and students at Barnhill were absolutely brilliant at supporting this cultural exchange; it's an experience that has surely opened minds. Hopefully, this will inspire many future linguists!'

We bid 'adios' to our friends on Friday 24th October in a short assembly with Mr Jones, Headteacher, who addressed the students and their buddies, thanking them for their enthusiasm and conduct throughout what he hoped was a memorable experience that they may reflect upon with fondness in years to come.
