Personal Development

Students have a much lighter timetable at sixth form because they study fewer lessons and specialise in their chosen subjects. Obviously a great deal of independent study is required to achieve their potential and this will be set by teachers in the form of preparation tasks. However, to reach the highest possible grades, and to maximise their chances of success during university interviews, we recommend that students engage in personal development to understand the curriculum of their subjects more deeply. The breadth of this task is huge, so in order to help, teachers have identified opportunities within their areas of expertise to guide the students toward relevant, engaging and developmental material that will assist students to reach top grades. Please see the subject specific pages indicating what opportunities might be relevant for each term below. If students ever tell you they have nothing to do, please direct them here!
