Adventurous Y8s

Y8 enjoyed a mini break at one of PGLs residential adventure centres
42 Year 8 students climbed, canoed and swung their way through a 3-day trip to PGL in Liddington, near Swindon. Students were pushed to their limits; the activities were often a combination of physical and psychological challenge.
Students took part in canoeing, with many choosing to jump into the lake fully clothed at the conclusion of the session. They climbed extremely tall and challenging climbing walls, with teachers recording their times to track how much they could improve their climb time from the start to the end of the session. Boys and girls often faced off in archery and Disk Golf, honing their hand-eye-coordination skills. There were screams galore as students flew through the air on both the Giant Swing and Zip wire activities, while the students exercised teamwork and problem-solving during the Crate Challenge and Trapeze.
Between challenges, students had the perfect opportunity to socialise with their friends, not to mention consume an impressive amount of snacks! In the evening's, organised events such as a silent disco and a game show challenge brought the group together for more fun and excitement. Throughout the trip, the students represented Barnhill brilliantly, demonstrating the kind of adventurous, curious and polite attitudes that make our school proud.
Well done to everyone involved, including the amazing staff who joined us: Mr Mudavath, Miss Evans-Brown, Miss Qawasmeh, Miss Rodrigues. Many thanks to Mrs Gill for organising the trip to perfection!
