This Week (ending 4th September):

Senior Leadership Message

This edition: Ms Bertin, Deputy Headteacher

We are delighted to welcome our students and families back for the new academic year, and we are incredibly excited about what the year ahead will bring.

Following some fantastic outcomes at both GCSE and Sixth Form, we are proud of the achievements of our students and staff. These successes reflect the hard work, commitment and determination of our whole school community. As we look ahead, our ambition is to build on this strong foundation and continue to ensure that every student has the opportunity to flourish, achieve their potential and develop the confidence and character to succeed.

As students return to school, we would like to take this opportunity to reinforce our expectations around behaviour, conduct and readiness to learn. Our school community is built around four core values: Respect, Wisdom, Aspiration and Community. These values underpin everything we do and guide the way we expect every student to conduct themselves each day.

We expect all students to demonstrate these values through their everyday choices and behaviour. This includes:

  • Arriving at school and lessons on time and fully prepared to learn.
  • Using respectful and appropriate language at all times.
  • Treating others, the school environment and school property with care.
  • Listening to and following staff instructions.
  • Taking responsibility for their actions and choices.
  • Showing a positive attitude towards learning and embracing opportunities to succeed.
  • Supporting others and contributing positively to our school community.

Maintaining high standards of behaviour and conduct is essential to creating a calm, purposeful and positive environment in which every student can learn, feel valued and thrive. We want our students to understand that these expectations are not simply rules to follow, but important habits and qualities that will support them throughout their education and into their future lives.

Students will be taken through these expectations in detail during their return to school. They will also receive a planner containing key reminders and information. We would encourage parents and carers to take some time to go through the planner and expectations with their child, reinforcing the importance of making positive choices and starting the year with the right mindset.

Working together is incredibly important. When school, students and families work in partnership, we create the strongest possible foundations for success. We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to working with you throughout the year.

We wish all our students a very successful and positive year ahead. We cannot wait to see what they will achieve!
