The Lion King's Share of Entertainment!

Students enjoyed a theatre trip to the African savanna.
Miss Rahman secured a contribution from the Jack Petchey scheme to subsidise tickets for a group of students to see the Lion King production at the Lyceum theatre in London. Students were selected for their positive attitude and model conduct and for whom the experience would link to their learning.
The Lion King tells the tale of a young lion, Simba. Following the death of his father, Simba starts a new life away from the African Pride Lands. When responsibility beckons, Simba must return to his homeland to take on his foes and regain his crown as king.
Students were asked to share their perspective on the experience and some of the comments appear below:
'I really enjoyed the trip and hope that I can experience a trip like that again in the future.' Kareena
'I was excited to be invited. I am afraid of heights and we were high up but when the show started I was so engaged I didn't notice. It was very colourful and the music was good.' Oscar
'The Lion King was one of the best experiences that I have had. The singing paper animals were just amazing as they danced.' Sa'riah
It was fantastic to be able to offer the opportunity for students to experience live theatre and no doubt had the 'Circle of Life' going round in their minds all the way home!
