Barnhill's Got Talent Galore!

What a Show!
Students, staff and parents were treated to a display of talent from our 18 acts that took to the stage in the BGT competition.
There was music, song, comedy and dance introduced by our sixth form compères, Kamyra and Mohamed who presented like seasoned professionals, ensuring all the acts had a warm welcome.
Faith opened the show with her rendition of ‘Troubled Waters, followed by Julian who appeared as a soloist and as part of Rock Band playing a mean electric guitar and full of personality; Aaron and Nivian played the theme to the Pirates of the Caribbean as a duet on the piano then followed Shivanshi who sang and danced with great energy.
Jaswini sang ‘Unstoppable’, such an anthemic number which had the crowd clapping along then Tori and Elsie graced the stage with their dance routine during which Tori’s glasses fell off but she ‘souldja’d’ on!
Sujin gave us something different regaling the crowd with his jokes and comedic delivery (a personal favourite – what do you call a nervous javelin thrower….Shakespeare!) then Rock Band (Julian, Hayat, Manessa, Oscar & Anipa) had us ‘Counting Stars’. Emily dazzled us with her sparkly skirt as she sang and Taiyeba had the audience enthralled with her acapella version of Adele’s ‘Set Fire to the Rain’.
Sheylana and Kimia sang in harmony to ‘Stand Up’, a very powerful song and fiercely rejected criticism from one of the judges inviting them to come and do better!
Sehajpreet danced beautifully to a bhangra beat that Mrs Gill, enthusiastically encouraged by the crowd, found so compelling she just had to get on stage and join in. Kavya then took to the stage to perform ‘A Million Dreams’ dressed in a grand ballgown that fitted the occasion perfectly. Brother and sister act, Sukhpreet and Rajveer, gave us more bhangra with fantastic choreography and synchronisation (Mrs Gill was too worn out to return the stage a second time!) and Laura and Cria performed their own routine to Lady Gaga’s ‘Dead Dance’ with matching outfits and haunting moves.
Rawneet, Fizza, Camari, Destiny and Whitney delivered Rihanna’s ‘Why Why Why’ with attitude and by far the most enthusiastic welcome of the night was awarded to Aliya, Leyan, Yusra, Iman and Ruby who performed a very energetic dance with a few gymnastic moves.
The final act of the competition was Camari, her second appearance, who sang and played the piano to a Keyshia Cole track.
The judges (Mrs Gill, Mrs Gabriel and sixth formers Tristin and Aaisha) had the difficult task of selecting a winner and, after thanking all of the performers for sharing their talents, announced the following places:
Third place: Julian
Runner up: Sukhpreet & Rajveer
Winner: Camari
The finale was Ms Connage performing her own rendition of ‘Respect’ with new Barnhill inspired lyrics joined on stage by all of the performers. There was such a positive vibe and a very entertaining end to a fantastic event.
